post-independence India	Ram Chandra Guha’s India After Gandhi. Bipan chandra’s India since independence. Videos of Pradhan Mantri on YouTube. Used Wikipedia for all important wars and famous events. I read India After Gandhi out of curiosity. It can be avoided but I think the social connection and social analysis of post independence India is helpful for essay and elsewhere.
